INTERNATIONAL GLOBAL COLOR OF MUSIC CRYSTAL AWARD
MB&W presents Inaugural International Music Award:
“GLOBAL COLOR OF MUSIC”
Arts & Culture & MUSIC Findlay, Ohio USA
The Four Tops energized the Marathon Performing Arts Center Thursday evening, October 21, when they took the concert stage to perform. Crisp solid vocals and the infamous style of the Tops is a Motown act hard to follow.
However, there is more to the Four Tops Findlay onstage story.
The City of Findlay’s Mayor presented the Tops with a formal city proclamation welcoming them to the city and proclaiming it to be the Four Tops Day. (*Note that every Motown Act that has performed in Findlay since 2011 has received a City of Findlay Mayoral Proclamation – The Contours – Tom Good – Martha Reeves – Mary Wilson.
However, the highlight of the evening happened backstage prior to the concert.
MB&W created music history in Findlay, Ohio as it presented an International Music Award, not for stage performance, but for the courage for an artist to perform on a diverse world stage where the reflective colors produced through black and white light is the color of music.
It was, also, an Ohio International Music Solo Award given in a city that is an I-75 Music Corridor to three of the most revered music museums in the world – Motown Museum, Detroit, MI; Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland, OH; and the Stax Museum, Memphis, TN.
Motown Black & White bestowed its inaugural International “Global Color of Music” crystal award to Abdul “Duke” Fakir, original member of the iconic Four Tops. It was a very touching Motown moment. It honors Duke and is given in honor of Al Abrams, Motown’s Press Officer.
This beautiful Crystal & Glass Art Form Melds World Colors. Music connects the Universe to Humanity.
